Why the sniper rifle nerf?

I mean, now you can't use a sniper rifle from far, it's simple not effective if almost half the time you're going to scratch the enemy, and if I have to get close, I might as well use an assault rifle. I read in another thread someone talking about people using snipers as assault weapons. What the hell? How do you use something that costs 7 ap to shoot like an assault weapon? I used to use the sniper rifles to shoot from far and always reach my enemy, even when my other guys couldn't, or to play defensively, using a spotter and shooting. Now, I can't do that. HomeRnDrby1	Reply to ElectricPulse The reason for this nerf was because people were using sniper rifles like ASSAULT RIFLES (aka. from close-in, not from a mile away). Another reason is that many people were literally flocking to the sniper rifles as a primary attack, which sniper rifles were not supposed to be on the front lines! So the cut in accuracy is quite like a deterrent. If you stick with it though... the accuracy will come back (and the later rifles are absolutely SCARY when it comes to damage!). 17 years ago Quote	17 years ago Quote

The level curve in gunrox, while not very steep, requires a lot of exp from one level to another, so all of us will be using assault weapons until (IF) we reach that, since that's the only viable weapon. And everybody knows that repetition brings boredom. And boredom leads to people stop playing the game. You know, with the accuracy nerf, you actually ENCOURAGE the front line usage of sniper rifles, since now you can't hit the broad side of a barn with one from range. It's stupid, you want sniper rifles used from far? Increase the minimum range, and decrease the damage done from close range. Back in the days it was almost impossible to have dynamic battles because everyone had powerful sinper rifles, using scopes and binoculars to locate enemies without problems and especially playing 2x2, 3x3 games if you end turn not protected by wall, house, or other obstacle it resulted in sure kill due to 4+ powerful sniper shots. All those resulted in games been extremely long, campy, boring and VERY frustraiting because single mistake could result in loss of the whole team, not only you alone. So please don't complain if you have no idea how bad it was back in the days. Now since accuracy been reduces you still can play defensive or spot and shoot enemy. The only difference is that you will be easily defeted by someone who will rush at you with more close weapons so this tactic now limited to limited situations. Earlier it was undoubtful win tactic because even if someone rushed at you he would be heavily wounded before he would be able to reach your snipers. P.S.
