Why dose my AK keep doing 1x damage?

Why dose my AK keep doing 1x damage?
It does not make sense. It should be either 4-9 or 20-30. I do not understand how the damage is calculated. πŸ˜•

4-9 or 20-30 - it is damage without accounting of enemy damage resistance (armor, "turtle" etc.)

You're misunderstanding how the damage works. 4-9 is at the nearest range, 20-30 is at maximum range, and it's a sliding scale for ranges in between. It's not just one or the other.

They have a point. The Assault Rifle class weapons do more damage the farther out they are (up to a point), at the cost of accuracy. Shotguns are the inverse of Assault Rifles, doing more damage at close range. Also worth noting is that there is some other variables to this mix. Like the target's body armor, perks (Damage Resistance, Turtle/Shelter), and there is some randomness to it now too.

Thanks a lot. I have been having the wrong idea for so long......😲
I do not think a lot of people know this clearly. And this is a little unrealistic.

Thanks. So how about submachine guns and sniper rifles?

SMGs are actually more reliable than the other weapons because their range is good and the damage output is not affected by distance. Sniper Rifles on the other hand had to been tweaked because of how everyone was using them as a universal weapon. Now their damage is based on distance... but it's not as wide as the Assault Rifles.

And this is a little unrealistic.

I think the reduced damage at close range for assault rifles and sniper rifles is supposed to represent the difficulty in keeping a long-barreled weapon accurately pointed at a close-up enemy, who is doubtlessly dodging, weaving, and doing everything they can to not get shot. In comparison, SMGs are much easier to swing about, and shotguns are barrels of aimed splodey destruction. πŸ˜‰

That's the point! The units in-game are not that stupid. 😝

Comparing to dodging enemy is good but the main idea was to make every weapon type to have their own tactical niche and I think we've succeeded with that.

well i am still unsure about submachine guns 😁😁
P.s becasue look Shotgun clsoe distance max dmg chance = big , submachine closer distance not as close as pistol chance big, ASsult rifles max distance max dmg acc small :P
