Lurking in Gunrox
Here's a thought I've been having for a while and came back now with the Tournament announcement:
If Mods can watch games why not allowing other players to also watch games? In the PBEM world this is called "Lurking".
Let the game creator decide if he allows "Lurker" in his game or not, games that allow Lurkers will give a small xp bonus to all players to encourage gamers to allow others to watch their games.
Lurkers can see all players but do not show on the player's list and are blocked from chatting with the players.
I think that this will be a great tool for new players to learn game's strategy and tactics; it will help Newbies to get into the game, choose partners (and even clans) and will raise the quality of all the gamers community in Gunrox.
I, for one, would be ever so happy and excited to be able to see the veterans fight on the tournament!
BTW, if it seems too extreme, maybe "Lurking" will be allowed only on special events, though I think it should become a standard feature.
Your thoughts?
Incognito.

No, with the help of ICQ, Jabber/GTalk and so on, spectators can reveal position of player and his weapon and send to another player.

😎Maybe some of the matches could be recorded by the mods then posted on you tube, then the other players and beginners can watch without comprimising any matches. Maybe some commentry could be added as well.😁😁

Guess you're right Darkwish, never considered this. Seems to me recording games would be a bit hard.
Shame, could have been nice...

Great idea actually, but darkwish is right in that there is potential for abuse here.

so, maybe spectrator could see only one team, and all players in team would have to accept him

the other team could still cheat then , with one person watching ( for example the blue team ) telling the red team ( via icq, msn whatever ) where the blue team is

As was already stated, live spectating gives the opportunity to cheat, but one option to allow others see your games would be to enable saving replays of games. This way the ones that played in a game could save the game if they think it was good and share it later.

Speaking of replays... I now have FRAPS installed on my comp. So during the tourney... if you want to know what went down in the games I watch, keep an eye out for those videos!

FRAPS is a great tool for recording game play, i like the idea of being able to watch the tournement as a spectator.
