i think, this impossible for enkord..
HGE engine is DX-only, as i know.. and i think, that enkord don't going to rewrite engine from scratch.

And what for? We have plans for Mac port, but I don't see much point in making one for Linux. It will only result into additional headache due to supporting it.

i tend to disagree, the game should be available to as much as the programmers can make it. If it cant be put on all platforms, oh well its an indi game and we cant expect the abilities of a major publishing house.

I was under the impression that linux has windows emulator. Its not like you cant use one for the performance, since gunrox doesnt require much from your pc.

i crawling thru Wine site and there are many ditributions for each linux base, maybe not at all dist can Gunrox run 😕 iam dunno in case of Wine (never use)
iam waiting for your report about Gunrox on Linux, inform me ASAP on your doings in this direction
i get on Christmass 7" ePC with Ubuntu on site and like to know does i can play Gunrox on it or did i have to overwrite Ubuntu to /null and install Windoza which is not my fav OS, i better feel with AIX 😉
btw. i think that if our tests will be succesfull we will have to spread this information that Gunrox work as well under Linux and attract more players which use only linux

Gunrox in Wine
I would prefer that the windows version works with WINE rather then there is a linux version.
I tried to use WINE with this. I usually use windows but it wasn't working on windows do to an INTERNET problem. I ran it (with wine) and it downloaded a new core.exe. Then it restarted gunrox.exe. This time, it needed a new gunrox.exe. it downloaded and from then on it always needed a new gunrox.exe.😕 I eventually looked at the file and it had downloaded a gunrox.exe- and a gunrox.exe.z.
Is there an explanation or a way to fix this problem? I would like to be able to play again before i manage to fix the INTERNET on my windows PC.

There are open source equivalents like VirtualBox afair. Not sure if they support DirectX well though.
