Problem with quiting team members
Suppose you started battle with team. After few rounds - some of your allies... desert, you have small (if any) chances then and so...
I understand, that to punish such ones it is rather not possible (yep, they punish themselves by statistics - who wants to fight in team with Deserter?), but I want to write about not_punishing other players.
Today I attended my first "mega" battle. I was the loosing one - it happens... but when it was clear, that we loose, two of allies desert. In this situtation everybody lost - my team, because if they stay we could inflict more damage (if not win) and the other team - because they could not kill deserters.
Suggestion : experience points which would be earned from killing "quiters" should be divided evenly among all other players.
I hope, that this has no hidden traps... and could not be used for bad reasons.

Another thing I would warmly welcome would be clear after battle summary. Right now players must guess why they become so many and not more / less experience points.
On the other hand - I don't want to know how you decide about rank. This should be your little secret ;-) It is like in life - you sometimes say too much and they don't promote you, or... promote you faster :-)

as far as i know, rank is mainly about dmg done/taken and units killed/lost, and i do agree about the summary (shouldnt be so hard to implement, no?) would be intresting how your exp stacks up from mega battles, i dont agree all about the "spread points evenly between players if a deserter quits" thing, it just seems quite complicated ☹

Deserters are punished for quitting out of games. The current punishment is automatic 0 EXP for that combat and loss of all equipment, not including the harm done to their rank. I personally think that the other players should get extra experience in case their foe quits out very early in the game.

Correct, after investing much resources to a battle - a quit from the foe REALLY hurts us because then we cant get the XP we deserve, and dont get me started on the double XP hurt either ☹
I will settle for a "free" double XP game if the game could not be completed properly...

Yes... I've been a victim to a deserter quitting on me in an 1 on 1... with double experience in effect! So I completely lost one chance to double my experience, which really, really STINKS!

The best solution would be an auto pilot for the units left by players that quit. that way you still get to kill them, get xp and all, and allies with deserter teammates get to keep playing.
im guessing this would be very hard to implement though, so probably not a possibility.

Yeah... that would be rather tricky to implement as we would have to create an artificial intelligence for Gunrox.

A much easier thing to implement would be to leave the units just standing there, as if the player is disconnected.
This way at least the other team will be able to kill, get the xp and easy loot (though I agree with GOLOTA that it would be nice to also compensate the deserter's allies in some way).
It could be even nicer if while his team is "stuck" in a game he deserted the player will not be able to join a new game with that team until they are killed! That will be one hell of a punishment…
All IMHO

Allowing units to stay will result in incredible possibilities to farm items and exp almost legally.
