Random Events
Random Events: Every hour at a randomly choosen time any player in the lobby will be chosen to play a random event. The player can choose yes or no to play the random event.
Texas Showdown - You face 3 cowboys with pythons and sawed-off shotguns and each have 10 AP's and 100 HP's. These cowboy's pythons can shoot 2 extra spaces than the players pistols. They also have no armor. Player starts with starter pistols and no armor. The map is a depection of a classic western town main street. The map itself is very small with one street running the length of the map. Buildings are on each side of the road. Inside the buildings are boxes for better weapons. Between each building is either 1 or 2 spaces. That includes behind each building. Both the player and the cowboy's face off in the middle of main st only 10 spots away. Cowboys always go first. Cowboys will not go for boxes. They only persue the player. If the player is able to kill all three cowboys then for a prize they recieve a sherifs star badge for each surviving character. The star is displayed on top of cloths and armor. For the next 10 games in multiplayer the player's pistols shoot 2 spots of extra range. After ten games the star goes away until they successfully complete this random event again. The star is automatically displayed and can't be removed until after 10 games.
Fox Hunt - The player must kill foxes in this random event. The map will be nothing but boxes and bushes. The fox has 14AP's and 25HP's. For 5ap it can bite for 5-40 damage. The foxes can run through the bushes. They also will only attack once each turn and run. The effect will be foxes jumping out of the bushes biting and then disappearing back into the bushes again. The player starts with starter pistols and no armor. Boxes are randomly spread around the map. This random event also has 8 rounds. In the first round the player faces one fox. After each round the number of foxes the player faces increases by one. The rounds end after the fox(s) are killed. Any damage the players characters recieve during each round stays for each consecutive round. After each fox is killed the player recieves a fox pelt. This random event is over either if all the players characters die or the player killed all the foxes from each of the 8 rounds. For every 10 fox pelts the player aquired the player recieves one fox hat. The fox hat is rewarded to a character of players choice. The hat allows that character 1 extra AP for the next 5 multiplayer games. This hat replaces any hat the character might have had. The players default hat is returned after 5 games and the Fox hat is gone until they play Fox Hunt again.
Amusement Park - Unlike the other two random events this one doesn't have combat. The map is a huge map of an amusement park. There will be all kinds of rides. There will also be an three game booths. Each game booth is a game of skill based on one of the unit skills in gunrox. The game is randomly choosen when the map is initially entered by the player. The games will be quick little point and click type games. Games like a shooting gallery for the pistol skill or a grenade throwing range where you have to aim and hold the the mouse button for power (kind of like a golf game) Each one will be a different quick game. The player gets to play 3 games one for each of his characters. Pending on that characters level in that skill the game will be easier or harder to play. If the player gets a perfect score he recieves a golden ticket. The golden tickets can then be used to ride one of the rides. The player clicks on a ride on the map and is then shown his three characters getting on and riding that ride. The player recieves a silver medal for riding the rollar coaster. The player can earn a gold medal for riding on every ride on in the amusement park.

The big problem is to make AI code. You mean bots, too much word imho.

interesting......but
IMO Berserker seems to use the K.I.S.S. method with Gunrox. The classic "less is more"

Keeping it stupid simple wouldn't affect anything here. These games would be very quick and nothing to intense on the user end. There really doesn't need to be an AI. Just some basic instructions. First off the these random event creatures would see the whole map. That takes care of a lot of code. Also some specific instructions.
Cowboys - In the case of the Cowboys they would pursue the closest character to them. They stop moving when they can shoot. Any extra ap after shooting they would move towards the closest character again. When they run out of pistol bullets the switch to shotgun.
Foxes - The foxes would be coded to randomly choose a character that they can attack. They move towards that character and attack once. Then they move threw the closest bush. They move, attack once, and then move again.
Nothing in the way of intelligence. Very simple. These are random events. Very quick things to 'fun up' Perhaps the amusement park idea is a bit code intensive. Also the random events don't have to be new maps. Just use the graphics already established.

These aren't bots to give you a challenging normal game. This is a quick simple random event.
Forgot my original random event:
Zombies! - Player starts with no armor and starter pistols. Player has to survive 20 whole turns. Random zombies spawn in areas not in view. Zombies have 8AP and 10 - 25 hp. They do hand to hand 5-10 damage. Any adjacent zombies gives a +10 damage. So for example one zombie attacked and had two adjacent zombies the damage dealt would be 5-10 +20. If player last 20 rounds any surviving character would receive a reward of a skull necklace. It give a +10 damage to any adjacent character for the next 3 games. The necklace is seen above shirts are armors.
BTW - any weapons received from boxes in random events wouldn't be saved as normal. They go away.

This is a little late... I think it is a great idea and should be took into consideration, although it may be a good idea. Enkord may not make enough money to do this or may not be able to make a code for it.. Bots, and mods are mostly hard to do..
