MEGA 5x5? How to make it shorter?
The problem is that games like MEGA 4v4 5v5 takes long time, but still favorite type of game for many ppl. And probably it would be favorite type, but ppl dont want to spend 3,4,5,6 and even more hours for it.
So lets try to find, how to make MEGA shorter and faster.
I will write some most important troubles:
1. It takes just @@@@@@@@@ long time for 2-8 hours. Amazing =)
2. How to divide teams, sometimes it takes for about 30-60 minutes.
* Some ppl do nOt want to play with or against others ppl.
* or dividing by levels 30,30,30,32,33 vs 35,28,30,31,33; 140vs145
* noobs vs mightynoobs.
That is all very complicated.
And developers do not care about it, why!? We want to play mega, but make it faster and shorter pls.
I would like to ask what have developers done to make it faster and shorter?
And would like to hear suggestions other players how to make MEGA FASTER and SHORTER.
My suggestions:
1) Option - Autodividing - comes ppl like in ffa, 10 players, all press ready, game will start and will auto divide
2) Option - Limitation by time, by damage or by kills or alltogether - exemple: will limit the game by time 2(1,3,4) hours, teams are playing and making damage by the end of 2 hours game will end and which team make the most damage they will win
3) To make faster movements, coz to spend 15 AP it takes about 20 seconds for one unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only moving!!!! 60 seconds for moving...... unbelivable!

currently there is no shorter way of megas... just play very good and take out the opponent... sometimes the map is the problem... a mega is supposed to be very long so it can be played for fun not exp... killing the time kills the mega

units should run - no more than 5 seconds on 1 unit full move Thats right, save many time. At a match yesterday my time was running out , second unit goes and last unit should hide again. Was still 1 second remain I click and click and click and the unit goes 2 steps in wrong direction and my team means a fake.
Just reduce time isn' good. 40sek is to short for me to manage my turn. If the units are running it could be possible for me.
Other suggestions. If a player is disconnected he lose his turn completely. Some matches with inactiv players waste many time while waiting just the time is running out.
Another suggestion i wrote many times before is a shrunkmap.
For example
Map 40*40 every second turn the reachable area shrunk by 1 circle.
Turn 3 you can just go between 2:2 to 39:39
Trun 5 - 3:3 to 38:38 ...
If units stand outside the map they lost health. For example 10*step to border. If you still stand 1 step outside you lost 10 health at trun start.
4 step outside you lost 40 health at trun start. The best regeneration cant't balance this for long time.
Effect the fight will comes to final because all units go togehter in the middle of map.

Make a map thats totally indoors, perhaps a mansion. That way people can hide properly and get in close to the enemy. Megas now consist of people sittin back for hours at a time sniping away at each other. Then once people smell weakness they enter closer combat. Making for a longer game then needed. If thiers a indoors mega map, people can sneak from room to room to get close and not have to sit back and sniper for 8 hours ☺
Problem solved, indoors mega mansion. Allows you to get close to the enemy undetected, and shortens the game alot. Because fear of snipers and long rangers, reduces considerably unless of course your in the main front room of the mansion or outside in the yard. Then your gettin snipered to death from across the room or yard ☺
Thropy room, bathrooms, large front hall, dining room, living room, work out room, bedrooms, laundry area, childrens play room, perhaps outside too could be a large fenced in yard so no one can escape thier deaths 😁 Eihterway its a fun idea, and people wouldn't be as scared, makin the game last hours more then it needs to.

Perfect support for Dark....I seldom play megas because:
1. it takes too long......
2. there is a much higher chance for me to lose all my guns and armor or most of them even if we win
3. my setup is more specialized in close combat and so....
If there is a map like a mansion for mega fight....I would be willing to join.

i think the idea of a disconnected person losing their turn should be this: if disconnected for 3 consecutive turns in a game with minimum 8 players then that player's turn is skipped until they re-connect

Dragons suggestions is nice but I dont think it will change effects of mega we talk about in this thread.
It only change the priority of weapons. Most long range weapons and granades could be useless because more barrier exists and longe shootlines failed. More barrier means small field of sight too.
The match will be the same: you go searching for enemy and if you find one you hide again as far as you can, because you dont know how many other units of enemy behind the next near corner. If you will attack, just 1 or 2 units will be in the line to attack. Other units could have no line. Killing want much more turns because the opponent at his turn can better hide behind other friendly units.
The time of match will not reduce just the using of binocluars. Even perhaps the time will grown because the possibility of better hiding, regeneration and healing. It just come to an end if units die. And thats easier at long range with rush-attack of some players at one turn.
Another effect of mega-matches you get nearly same exp at a 3-6h mega-match in comparison with 1vs1 of 30-60min. I think you earn much more exp per time at singlematches. Im a little worry about this. Exception you kill much more enemys, but mosttime the team work together and damage and kills dispersed relativ constant.

Best way to get mega shorter will be option to go in game only with 1 unit - thats all and then 1 turn 40sec and it will go fast without this damm tactical triangle 3 units - people think too long how to take good position

first off if a MEGA takes you over 4 hours your doing something wrong. stop sitting back and camping and go kill someone.

What is wrong with a MEGA being long? you play them for fun not XP. camp is boring but not hiding is selfdestruction at megamatches. You stand for long time and your unit could be attack by 15 enemys before you can move again. Effect: If you will win you must hide. And who will not win? 😉

If you start just with one unit for example doctor-unit will be useless. They are most weak because they have most perks and skills for medi and weight not for weapons. Snipers or heavy gun lose power because no other unit can scope for. The matches will be more communicate what the other should do. Means orders for "Hold sight", "hide again", "heal me" and so on.
I think just tanks with high hitpoints, good regeneration and ak or uzi are to best option for such kind of matches all other units will lose much influence. Because they cant move, attack and hide again. They just can move and attack, or move and hide.

i can see what your saying and i agree but i think thats what the level 100 place is.
isnt it like a scyscraper or a parking lot or something

ninja no tahts the new place taht they are designing lv 50 is cap so that lv 100 is under construction.... i think mayeb 2 units not 1... like knut said... 1 unit needs another so mayeb 2 units per mega (8 ppl or higher)

The best way i think is to limit time of mega(wt about 4 hours?) Winner team will be a team that deal most damage to opposite team.
Also if a player go disconnect reset his time. It'll be fair to others who play with/vs him. I think it'll be good too to make some changes in map build. Sometimes maps arrange camping(maybe it need to add some bushes or clovers ets to count out empty areas)
And last if it posible add button in menu "AUTOBALANCE" that must work if it's posible. Expl: when autobalance comlete appear inscription like "BALANCED AUTOMATICLY" or if player do it himself it must appear too ("about balanced").

Adding a time limit would be awful. Then the game would just end and noone would get time to loot anything.
