New "weapon"
Hello,
I am interested on the idea to have a shield on one guy.
Lets say i am on a 2x2 battle, and i want to advance, so I got this lovely shield that consume 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 of my ap when i use it and weights a bit to.
but it protects me from all shoot as it is a shield jeeje. and also from explosives its hit point is reduced.
Why would this be effective??
Well, lets say i want to see the dam enemys troops that are far away and i cant reach him, so i get my guy with his shield and go in a slow movment advancing with my super " X " gun behind him, in the same line.
So I could use a bit of this to get in narrow places and get protection.
jejej
Here are some pictures of my idea.

I actually like the idea. Something like 6+ ap to 'use' though to prevent abuse I imagine it would act like the tree's at lost beach... easy to hide behind but easily shot from an angle. Damage reducation could increase based on the 'level' of the shield. Tier 1 = 5% Tier 2 = 10% ect ect. Stacked with a turtle perk (hence the high AP to use cost) and you could have a very strong spotter/tank.
Even if Bers implemented this with low damage reduction to test it out, I think it would add a great element to the squads tactical abilities (which is what this game is, turn based tactical squad warfare)

Yes, like the trees in lost!!, the angle affects, and you can hide behind if you r smart jejej.
The i didnt understand the idea of the TIER, u say if u dont use ap the shield increeses???
Maybe it is better if it is an X reduction, from front shoots wont make damage, but if not, is like you were not using it.
I really didnt know which was the correct title, for this, maybe someone can give a better title and we open a new thread!

Tier is another word for level....
Example being Assult Rifles.
Tier 1 (1st level) AKSU 7-33 dmg
Tier 2 (2nd level, 20 skill) Colt 11-44 dmg
Tier 3 (3rd level, 40 skill) AK-47 15-55 dmg
For the shields there could be something similar
Riot Shield (Tier 1) 6ap to use, blocks 5% damage
Riot Shield (Tier 2, 20 skill) Blocks 10%
Riot Shield (Tier 3, 40 skill) Blocks 15%
Something like that, hope that helps explain what I ment. Obviously different shields would have different names, but you understand.

its not a bad idea remembers to some other games where u can use a pistol with a shield.
but think when u use it with a baseball bat..
so i think its fun for megas but in regular fight again i think it will be an overbalanced item.
but if it comes into play like that as one unit equipped with it cant attack but acts as a tank to the other units its worth a try..
can be learn and adapt some nice new tactics to play with it..

We can add drawbacks:
1. If it blocks one side, the person is vulnerable on the opposite side; you can increase the chances of critical hit or decrease the defense on that side
2. While the shield is used, the damage of the weapons he used to be reduced by half.
3. You can only use pistols, melee and grenades.
4. The shield does not protect against critical hits.
5. For close sields like theses, the vision can be limited to one line.

Well, there can be various kinds of shell ....Can have those leaving people vulnerable to blindness and invulnerable to stun. (The converse is also valid).

By the way I think it is good like that.
The other it will be useful only on low levels for a character trained with perks at immune to full 3 conditions is mostly useless i think.
In this aspect only(poison/stun/blinded).

From a real-life point of view, if a ballistic shield has a defect in the materials or workmanship, then surely you wouldn't know until you needed to use it. Then when you need to use it, you might find yourself a little bit too wounded or dead to take it back for the warranty? If, of course, being shot at doesn't void the warranty on it.

Nice deduction! I couldnt stop laughing, maybe you also need to keep the invoice just in case!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
About the shield, u was thinking for example you can use it with pistol, and as you dont use ap if you have 5 masters of pistols leaving u 1ap to move or 2 and 1 shot.
also it mentioned something about the flashlights, as upgrades, and it can give u more radio of sight or something like that.

another idea is that you could shoot with the shield, by the middle they use it to throw smoke grenades in crowds or swat situations. so it doesnt take any ap to use, but a pm can be used with it!!!๐Ÿ˜

I could actually imagine somebody just standing up after being shot in the head through a ballistic shield, walking over to where they bought it from, putting the invoice and the copy of the warranty on the table, getting their money back and only then dying. :S

Like a window...
I'd imagine that if it were to be implemented, it would follow the typical explosion method, so it would hit like normal, like explosions can currently seem to hit you through walls.
A good question would be, like thrown grenades, if you stand in front of a window sometimes you seem to hit the window frame and hit yourself instead of the person you aim at, if you stand close to the shielded person, would you possibly hit the top of their shield instead of throwing it over them to hit those enemies behind them?

I think is not like a window, the glass will hit you anyway, but maybe an explosion is reduced due to the shield. or maybe you move back. jejej
lots of options.
In real life if your shield was wrong and you need to use the warranty but you are in a coma or dead you can send a friend or family with a birth certificate or a death (if it is the case) and on the shoop they give you a 6ap military medkit
