Truth about mines
Ok, so you all should have noticed by now.... Mines do much more critical damage than regular guns or grenades.
So, its either the person walks directly into the square of the mine....
-OR- he walks to the square around it to trigger the mine...
My question is does it make critical damage when the person walks into the square of the mine?
and does it only makes normal damage if person walks in the square beside the mine?

ciritcal hit happens just with random luck. So i think it have nothing to do with the way of hit.
You can compare the damage of mine with damage of nades or rockets. Means maximum damage at the middle of explosion, minimum damage at border of explosion.
Mosttime you can't hit your opponent with a maximum explosion (at middle of mine) because for this you must put a mine direct beside him and he must go this one step full ahead to mine.
Example: Opponent stay at 10:11, you put a mine at 10:10 and he go at his turn to 10:10.
All other situations the mine will explode if the opponent unit go 1 step aside the mine which give not the maximum of possible minedamage also means a possible cirtical hit is less too.
Maybe because of math (Pythagorean theorem a²+b²=c²) there is also a difference if the opponent move to a field with angel because you are more away from middle. Let me explain.
1 field in straight line your distance from middle of explosion is just 1 (sqrt of 1+0) Example mine at 10:10 opponent go to 10:11
1 field with angel means your distance from middle of explosion is 1,4 (sqrt of 1+1) Example mine at 10:10 opponent go to 11:11
Hard to discribe for me because its not my home language but i hope you understand.

Im not sure about the exact numbers but as example a critical hit raise your damage at a fix percentage (+perks and weapon upgrades or magic ammo).
Example normal hit would give 50damage, cirtical hit +50% = give 75 damage)
If you shoot a weapon with 20 damage, criticals will be around 30.
If you shoot a weapon with 100 damage, criticals will be around 150.
and so on...
Some unit-perks and some weapon upgrades like silencer raise this percent. Armor of opponent and perks of critical resistance will drop the critical damage.
Probably mine is the most powerfull weapon you noticed till now. This also mean you will see higher critical damage with this kind of weapon. But there are some powerfull criticals of other kind of weapons too. I see critical-doom-units (*) with powerfull sniperguns, handgranades or some kind of mg with very powerfull ciritcals too.
(*) The perks of doom stay for a high number of perks which raise your chance to shoot critical and to raise the critcial damage. A unit with full possible perks will shoot around every 2nd shoot with a very high critical damage. For example a level 40 double-doom-unit with barret can shoot around 250-300+ criticals at armored units every 2nd-3th shoot.
