Bad Team Mates
I love this game, but factor is ruining it for me with increasing regularity, bad team mates.
I run into this all the time, my teammate (even if we are fortunate enough to speak the same language) refuses to communicate with me, and also refuse to engage in combat with our opponents. Either the comb the map, snagging every crate they can, or they stay 5-9 steps behind my team only occasionally taking a single shot with a sniper rifle and forcing me to do all the work. Even when I'm fighting on a double front they refuse to to provide assistance and often retreat further, usually into a structure and just wait. I'm sorry but I'm really tired of loosing a lot of equipment just so that someone else can get some free experience.
A lot of the time when this happens my whole team gets killed, and I wait and watch while my opponents knock out my cowardly ally, usually with little retaliation of any kind, indicating to me that the majority of players that do this aren't very good, and they know it.
I understand being aware of your shortcomings and not trying to maximize them, but you're not gonna get better if you don't get in the fight. You get two types of experience playing this game and only one of them is counted in points. You learn from your the mistakes you've made. You learn just how far away most people can see you, when to shut a door and when to leave it open, you learn not to underestimate a pistol, and not to stand your guys close to one another just in case your opponent has a grenade. These are mistakes that I see Level 7 and higher make all the time, because they never have, and still won't get in a fight, they stay back and watch their opponent do all the work, and they don't learn anything.
I only play team games, because I enjoy the extra strategy, but I am very rapidly becoming wary of many players on this game, so much so that the only very soon the only people I'm going to play with are those on my friends list

Yes, this is a common issue and I think not limited to this game. But good thing that in last update we've added features that will allow you to solve this problem:
1. RANK - roughly rank is the other type of experience also calculated in points - it shows how skilled player is as it is calculated based on number of played games, wins, losses, quits, etc. Of course it is not very accurate but you've got a rough image of your possible teammate judging his/her rank.
2. FRIEND LIST - if you found a good teammate you may want to add him to a friend list so you will be notified when he will be online or ends current game. Might be pretty useful.
3. IGNORE LIST - you can mark really bad teammates by adding them to ignore list. This way you not only see them but also they will be unable to join your game (or you joining their games)
I think those three features are good enough to help you solve your problem.

Yea, and if you find out your teammate is running away cowardly, stay close to him. This way you will let the enemy spot him also.

I havn't utilized the 'ignore list' yet, because frankly, I like to get even with the guys that have screwed me as a teammate in the past. When I go into a game with these players, I already know they're gonna run from me, and they're pretty easy to back into a corner, I enjoy knocking them around like that, makes their betrayals sting a little less.
And I refuse to run with a cowrardly ally, even if they hang me out to dry, I still stick in the fight, either you go all in, or not at all.

I know what you mean, I just started playing this game yesterday and every single time (maybe 3 times total) I'm in a team game, my teammate bails on me. And I'm left to try to take out one or two of the enemy guys before I'm crushed.

cheating players..
the description of those kinda players are cheaters!!!😡
they are playing like that on purpose so the otherside can win!!!😡
they are not doing it because they are so bad that they can't attack or even play, its the other team members using alternative accounts to handicap there opposing team, so they can have an easier time winning!!!😡
they dont answer you because they ARE the other side just pretending, dont be fooled!!!😡
