Acid nades got tweaked awhile ago (nerfed down) because they were too powerful, especially for high level players.
I don't think they need to get better, i.e., you can get them to have 0 dispersion at a low level (level 15 i think, if you have maxed grenade perks).
Some armor have good resistance against it, but even so, all weapons with poison are devastating in the long run.

hell no posin traps are monster without crit so what gonna happen if it has crit omg !
but nades yes beacuz its must usefull with crits cuz all 40+ nead posin
