Gunrox is too complicated for its own good.
(Note - if you want to get the point of what I wrote but don't want to read everything below, refer to my next post)
There are so many rules added to Gunrox over the years, its an absolutely daunting task to sift through all the threads and try to make sense of them all. Too many players have no clue of the game mechanics. Here is a basic summary of what 90% of people dont seem to understand:
You cannot get recruited into a clan unless your rank is first class private or higher.
Your rank increase / decrease is determined every 20 games you play. It goes up if your win/loss rate is 50% or higher. IF you quit games before all your men are dead, a quit counts as 2 losses which is a double penalty. Once you quit 5 times in 20 games, expect your rank to fall. Your first 6 (?) quits are invisible on your record. Quits appear on your record after 7 or more quits.
First class private rank is acheived after you play 40 games minimum (recruit 0-19 games, private 20-39 games played) and the 50% win rate criteria is achieved.
Nobody can get into a clan as a war deserter. The game disables the button to recruit these people.
War deserter status lasts for 1 WEEK exactly and is caused several ways: * Leaving the clan without being kicked by a leader/recruiter.
* Qutting a fame game before all your men are dead.
* Quitting an aggression game (where you are attacked / attacked someone else) before all your men are dead.
* Quitting an outpost game before all your men are dead (I am pretty sure this is the case even though I have not seen it myself)
Fame games MUST be made up of between 4 to 6 people of opposing clans. No more, No less. Teams can be 3v1, 2v2, 3v2, 3v3, 1v4, 1v5.
Fame games only are enable when the level difference is up to +5 or -5 levels of each team. ie - a team total of 20 levels can only fame against another team that has 15-25 levels total.
Every time you recruit a player into the clan, the clan loses 300 fame. Fame points cannot go below 0. 1 reshuffle perk is used up every time you recruit a person - EVEN IF YOU HAVE 0 FAME POINTS. Once you are out of reshuffle perks, you start to lose 300 fame per recruitment.
The fame week ends at roughly 8:30pm GMT every Sunday night. All fame games must finish before then otherwise the fame points get carried over to the new week.
All game leaderboards, including top fame. top activity, etc, are updated every 3 hours thoughtout the day.
Mistaken bans - these happen from time to time and there is nothing you can do to overturn a ban on your record should a moderator ban you. The best thing to do is to remember the following rules:
Never line up your players in a straight line and end your turn for whatever reason. Moderators who are spying on your game will screenshot this and ban you - even if you are not intentionally faking.
Also never say anything in general chat to the enemy which could be interpreted by a moderator as proof of a fake game. example: " you said you would return my items at the end of the game" or "dont kill me and I will return your items". Although there are perfectly good reasons for saying these without the game being fake, a moderator could have just jumped into your game at that point and not seen how the game was a real fight up before then. At that point it is clear that one side is going to lose so they try to make a deal but all the moderator sees is a predetermined game and not a negotiated truce - THERE IS A DIFFERENCE MODERATORS!!!
Never hit / kill your own team mates no matter how mad you are at them. Deliberately hitting your team mates can get you a ban from a moderator or if they screenshot you, even if there is a perfectly good reason such as:
- team mates looting the arts from your bags with the intent to steal them from you.
- team mate non-participation thoughout most of the combat and then trying to cash in on all the bags before anyone else (unfair reward after everyone else risked their lives).

As I know that a lot of people here in Gunrox are illiterate and of low intelligence, here is a short summary of my epic novel that I wrote above:
* 90% of players don't understand how rank works and how their rank impacts their ability to join a clan because of game mechanics (deserter status and rank)
* A lot of players don't understand the full extent of conditions that must be met for fame games to be valid. They also don't understand how fame points get deducted when you recruit players.
* A lot of players don't understand deserter status, how you get it and how long it lasts.
* A lot of players aren't crystal clear on why you can get banned because it isn't communicated effectively to them - in my opinion it lacks examples, reasons why actions are wrong and a lot of people get banned for doing what they feel is right which is their intuitive experience from other games / real life.
Please summarise all the last 3 years of Changes in Gunrox onto 1 thread for ease of reference for new players. The game is too complicated because nobody can find all the rules.

and you have to wait a moderator be willing to do this, because I think 95% of gunrox players dont speak english/dont give aa shit about forum/are not inclined to waste time with that.

Good thread for all new players but maybe there will be a time this thread is out of date too 😉 Maybe the things you discribe around rankings will be changed with next clanupdate.
Some related comments from me:
You talking about gamefeatures not gamerules. Sure some of this features was changed from time to time but have nothing to do with "gamerules" or "terms to use".
Im mod and i must decide between fake and no fake. Its mosttime hard to decide its stupid playstyle or fake. Common chat have nothing to do with these things. Except you chat about some interrests of fake from the beginning. We ban because of things we see not of things we hear. So this whole chapter is meaningless.
You talking about some good reasons to shoot a teammate. There will NEVER be a reason to shoot a teammate. Here its the same problem as you discribe with mistaken bans of mods. At all these points you decide about the playstyle of another player to got a reason for shoot/kill him (mods do the same at bans) but you are never be in a position to punish other players. Killing own team is a sure sign for helping opponent team (also if you have other mainreason) Its forbitten!
Like i discribe you mainly talking about gamefeatures with should be written at a manual not at gamerules or terms to use. But as long as we don't have a manual we can't change this manual 😉
We started to do such a manual step by step beside the different threads here with some faq. Remember the wiki but it was sabotaged and deleted. Im still sad about.

Cruentus, i think when u started to play this game u don't knowed anything too.
I know, i know, this game have many anoying ppls, telling: "give me clan, bla bla bla. "
But to me is ok, i just answer no, and nothing more. This is the game, they go learn whit the time, i think.

But to me is ok, i just answer no, and nothing more. This is the game, they go learn whit the time, i think.

On the contrary, I understood this game very quickly when I started playing. Once I understood at lvl 2 that you must buy enkord to play this otherwise you will keep on losing, the basic strategy of coming armed with aksu and 40mm attachments turned the tide. From the start I understood that THIS IS NOT A FREE TO PLAY GAME, if you try to play for free u will play for 10 times the amount of time as a casher and not have any fun because you will be losing all the time.
I developed good strategies and people didn't want to play megas with me because I was too good. They complained that I keep on taking arts and even to this day people still remember my account Obsydian taking those poisoned snipers that I loved so much from 3 years ago and accuse me of taking arts to megas!!!
When the fame system came out, I was on the ball and clan Noxious top spot first the first couple of weeks in a row. Things have changed, however. There are too many little rules that even I am not clear about. There are also many more bigger issues with this game like corruption, but first the admin must get the document controll right in this game so everyone knows what the game mechanics are. I am getting sick of explaining it to people.
